Here are Amazon Japan’s rules regarding stickerless inventory.
If your products do not qualify, we will attach Amazon FBA Barcode labels to your products.
Stickerless, Commingled Inventory
Selecting the Stickerless, Commingled Inventory preference can streamline the process for shipping inventory to Amazon. See how going stickerless can help you.
Commingled Inventory (Stickerless Products)
The stickerless, commingled preference enables you to list and ship stickerless products for Fulfillment by Amazon if they meet the qualifications stated below. This eliminates the need to sticker all the units you send to our fulfillment centers. If any of your products do not qualify for stickerless commingling, you can still fulfill them through FBA if you print labels and affix them to each unit before sending them to our fulfillment centers.
Commingling your inventory allows Amazon to treat your inventory as being combined with the inventory that Amazon or other sellers have of the same kind and condition. When someone purchases an item from your inventory we won’t physically distinguish your inventory from that of other sellers. This enables us to process customer orders more efficiently.
For example, if seller Joe Smith sells brand new iPods with UPC 8590905343 and seller Jane Doe sells new iPods with the same UPC, then when a customer places an order from Joe Smith for this iPod, we will fulfill the order with an iPod that is closest to the person processing the order in our fulfillment center. However, we decrement inventory availability for sale from Joe Smith, so he always has up-to-date knowledge of his stock.
Selecting the Stickerless, Commingled Preference
If you have never sent inventory to Amazon, you can set the stickerless, commingled preference as you create your first shipment to FBA. As you convert a listing from the Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) to the Amazon Fulfilled Network (AFN), the user interface will ask you if you would like to configure your account for stickerless, commingled inventory. If you use this method for registering while creating an AFN item, your account will automatically be configured for stickerless, commingled inventory.
If you have previously declined this offer, you can request stickerless, commingled inventory by going to your FBA Settings page and enabling the option for stickerless, commingled Inventory. After changing this setting you will need to relist your products before you can send them in stickerless.
- Go to Seller Central > Settings > Fulfillment by Amazon > Inventory Settings (Stickerless Commingled Inventory)
- Click the ‘Edit’ button
- Select ‘Enable’ and click ‘Save’
Note: All other shipping guidelines still apply.

Technical Requirements for Stickerless, Commingled Inventory
The condition of the product must be new.
The item must have a JAN/EAN/UPC in a barcode form for our fulfillment centers to scan when they receive the item.
The JAN/EAN/UPC must map to a single ASIN. If it maps to more than one ASIN, you will need to label the item, even if it could be previously sent in as stickerless.
In order to prevent delays in processing your inventory, certain other products may not be eligible for stickerless commingling.
Barcodes must be on the outside of the product in an accessible location.
The product must not have an expiration date.
Note: Amazon reserves the right to change the qualifications for Stickerless, Commingled Inventory at any time.
Note： The parallel import products in the following categories, bulk products (white box, simplified package) or OEM products (off-brands) also need to have a sticker. If no sticker is attached, Amazon cannot receive your product.
- Office Products
- Musical Instruments
- Home & Garden
- Major Appliances
- Pet Supplies
- Baby & Maternity
- Sporting Goods
- Tools & Home Improvement
*Any of memory products in the Computer category cannot be commingled, and need a sticker. Original Inkjet Printer Ink cartridge, Compatible Inkjet Printer Ink cartridge, Original Projection Lamps, Compatible Projection Lamps, Memory products include USB, memory cards, SD cards, Mini/Micro SD cards, memory sticks, CF/XD cards, memory card readers, built-in memory and other memory devices.
Whenever you convert a listing to Fulfillment by Amazon or replenish an existing FBA listing, Seller Central runs a check on the item to determine if it qualifies for stickerless commingling. If it passes the checks, the inventory will automatically be routed through the stickerless commingled shipping workflow.
Note: Stickerless refers to the product units, not the shipment. All shipments to our fulfillment centers require shipping labels.
Listing Conversion Check
When you convert a listing to Fulfillment by Amazon, the qualifying check will determine if the item qualifies for stickerless commingling or not. If it does not qualify, the shipping workflow will automatically enable the Label Items step in the shipping workflow. You can enter the number of labels you need and print them. You can return to this step at a later time to print additional labels.
Identifying Stickerless Listings
There are two indicators to help you determine whether an FBA listing is stickerless commingled or stickered:
The ASIN match the FNSKU. On the Inventory Amazon Fulfills page, check the “Show ASIN/FNSKU” box. The ASIN and FNSKU, will appear beneath the title of each listing. If an item’s ASIN matches the FNSKU, the item is stickerless commingled. If the two do not match, the items require labels. The product that has a prefix of “B000” for ASIN and “X000” for FNSKU mean that the items require labels.
When you enter the shipping workflow, the second step in the process for stickered inventory will be “Label Items.” This step is skipped for stickerless inventory.
Send/Replenish Listings Check
When you send/replenish inventory that has been previously sent as stickerless, commingled inventory, Seller Central will still check to see if it qualifies as stickerless commingled. If an existing FBA listing fails the check, an error message will display explain why. Check failures are most often the result of UPCs or EANs mapping to more than one ASIN. When this happens, the item cannot be commingled with other new items of the same manufacture, make, and model.
You can relist the product and create a new MSKU (for instance, if your original SKU was “1234,” you can create a new offer with MSKU “1234 – Stickered” for that item) then convert the listing to AFN. Your seller account will assign a new FNSKU beginning with an “X” to indicate that it will need to be stickered before shipping it to our fulfillment centers. If you currently have stickerless, commingled inventory for this item under the old MSKU, it can stay in the fulfillment center where it will continue to be fulfilled without any problems.
Stickerless, commingled inventory and stickered inventory are processed differently at the fulfillment centers. If your shipment contains items for both stickerless, commingled inventory and stickered inventory, the shipment will be split even if the inventory will be sent to the same fulfillment center. The shipment workflow will enable you to work on each shipment separately, save each shipment or cancel either of the shipments.
